Murali desires to Scout young cricketers through ‘Goodness Cup’

Legendary Muttiah Muralitharan quest to give maximum exposure to Sri Lanka’s young Cricketers is a well known thing. Over the years, he has been organizing ‘Murali Harmony Cup’ to give a platform to rural areas youngsters to shine and make their way through higher level Cricket.

To expend the scale, he has come up with an all together new tournament, this time for U15 players. ‘Murali Goodness Cup’, the newest initiative of Legendary Bowler, has kicked off on November 11 and will be played on till 3rd December.

The 50 overs tournament will see six teams : of Austasia Academy, Seenigama Academy, Dharmapala College Kottawa, Ashoka Vidyalaya Colombo, MDH Jayawardene Vidyalaya Kotte and CWW Kannangara Vidyalaya Colombo, to play against each other as a total of 18 games to be played.

“Murali selected Six teams from the School grade, as he wants to give maximum exposure to the upcoming junior cricketers from all age groups” said Anura De Silva, Sports Director of Foundation Of Goodness. Kevin Koththigoda, the young bowling sensation who caught the attention of world cricket during ongoing U19 Asia Cup, was first spotted during the last year Edition of Murali Harmony Cup.

Foundation of Goodness is a Non Profit Organization, pioneered by the legendary cricketers Muttiah Muralitharan, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.
