Was afraid of facing Lasith Malinga’s Yorker in 2011 world cup, reveals Virat Kohli

Even though many considers him the best batsman of younger generation, team India’s skipper Virat Kohli has revealed that during the final of 2011 World Cup, he feared facing Sri Lanka bowling spearhead Lasith Malinga,s Yorker’s.

“I was afraid of facing Lasith Malinga’s Yorker. I was nervous. But after 2-3 balls, I settled down” Kohli revealed during Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan TV show.

In the final against India at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Malinga was in devastating form as he dismissed Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar cheaply. Kohli, just an emerging youngster then, came at number four and anchored the innings with Gautam Gambhir.

India eventually won the match, and lifted the trophy after 28 years.
