Labrooy to be SL new chief selector, Aravinda De Silva Vice President

Former fast bowler Graeme Labrooy will be next Chief selector of Sri Lanka team, Cricket Age can confirm. Also Legendary Aravinda De Silva could be next Vice president.

“Mr. Labrooy will be appointed new Chief selector. Also we have approached Aravinda De Silva to be Vice President in charge of International Cricket, though he has not accepted it” a top official of SLC told Cricket Age.

Labrooy will replace Sanath Jayasuriya as the chief selector, who resigned after a disastrous India series, where team beaten comprehensively in all three formats.

Labrooy is presently working as an ICC match referee and he will have to be relieved from his duty to take up the new appointment.

His first task is to select a 15 squad for Sri Lanka UAE tour. The first test will be played at 28th September in Abu Dhabi.
