The Sri Lanka selectors led by Sanath Jayasuriya, who received the six month extension to their term, have dropped fast bowling alleounder Lahiru Madhushanka and left arm spinner Amila Aponso for the remainder of the matches of five match series against Zimbabwe.

Chamara Kapugedera and Suranga Lakmal, who were added ahead of second ODI, will remain in the squad. The selectors have also not included Dinesh Chandimal for the last three matches as well. Selectors said before the series that Chandimal could be included for last three matches, but after Upul Tharanga good performances at the number 4 where he struck two unbeaten half centuries, Meant selectors found no logic to include him.

The five match series is poised 1-1 and the third match will be played on 6th of July.
