Malinga ruled out of tomorrow’s match with illness

Written by Rohit Pawar

Sri Lanka’s bowling spearhead Lasith Malinga has been ruled out of tomorrow’s match against Zimbabwe, due to Viral Influenza, Sri Lanka cricket board said in a statement today.

Since his return to international cricket earlier this year, Malinga has largely been sporadic in his bowling, while his fielding has also been in the spotlight. He is just five wickets away of his 300th ODI scalp.

SLC also confirmed that Chinaman, Lakshan Sandakan had sat out the first ODI against Zimbabwe due to an attack of the same bug. Sri Lanka will play their second ODI against visitors Zimbabwe tomorrow at the picturesque Galle International Cricket Stadium.
