As after years of criticism, Sri Lanka cricket is finally gearing up for a much needed four teams inter provincial tournament, legendary Mahela Jayawardene seems a happy man, as he was the one, who has been continuesly pushing SLC for this to happen.
But, when a fan asked him about the number of teams and compare it with India on Twitter, Mahela reply was epic!

“@MahelaJay In India around 20 teams are playing for Ranji trophy. And many best players were found from that. So why can’t we play with 9 teams” fan asked to Mahela.
“1 billion vs 22 million. I am sure you are good at maths? How many teams should we have?” Mahela replied.
When another fan asked as there is no war now, can we get in to creating 9 province teams, Mahela replied that Sri Lanka first need to start with five teams.
“Then we go back to Quantity against quality. 5 teams first and then see if we have enough players to increase” said Mahela.
